The Darwin 150 Project

 

Darwin 150, a project of the Reading Odyssey, is a public science education initiative focused on celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Charles Darwin's "On the Origin of Species" and bringing the important insights of Darwin and general science to mainstream adults, high schools, community colleges, universities, museums and other institutions in the U.S. and around the world

Our Darwin 150th Anniversary Campaign to celebrate one of the most important books and ideas in the history of humanity, has three key components:

  • Free four-part lecture series (phone, in-person, and in most cases, webcast) with some of the preeminent scientists and scholars working today, including Professors Everett Mendelsohn, Sean Carroll, and E.O. Wilson, and Pulitzer Prize-winner, Jonathan Weiner.
  • Phone-based reading groups leading mainstream adults through the text of "On the Origin of Species"
